Ford Territory In A Nutshell

The Ford Territory was released in April of 2004 by Ford Australia. It is a crossover SUV designed using the EA169 platform. The same platform used for the Ford BA Falcon. The Ford Territory won Wheels Car of the Year award shortly after it’s release.

The first models include the SX and the SY. The SX was the original model with a 4.0-litre DOHC straight-six Barra engine. The SX resembles the Ford Taurus X, being more rounded than the newer SY. The SY has a ZF six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The SY had a facelift in 2009, called the SY II. It was revealed at the Melbourne International Motor Show with a more moderate front end and newer color options.

2011 introduced the current model of Ford Territory, nicknamed the SZ series. The SZ has lower air intake and a slimmer upper grille. Various levels of this new model include the TX, TS, and Titanium.

The TX comes with 17-inch alloy wheels. Cruise control is available, as is iPod/USB integration.

The TS is similar to the TX, but with 18-inch alloy wheels for an additional inch. It also has a 4-way power adjustable driver seat, color touch screen, and front fog lights.

The Titanium is similar to the TS, but this version now includes LED running lights. The chrome detailed grille enhances the aesthetic appeal of the SZ series. The driver seat is now 6-way power adjustable and has three memory settings. Other features for the Titanium include privacy glass, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and the Traffic Message Channel through a satellite navigation system.
